The Deepika Social Welfare and Economic Rehabilation Society
Women who are already victims of exploitation, abuse, torture and rape are unable to protect themselves or provide for their children. Many of these women have been forced into sexual exploitation from the time they were little children.
They have never been given an opportunity to be educated or trained in any other occupation. The Deepika Social Welfare Society offers women rescued from sexual slavery a holistic environment where their physical, emotional and spiritual needs are met. As part of their economic rehabilitation the women are trained in vocational skills that will help them support themselves and their children. The women work together to produce items such as purses, quilts, jewellery, scarves, handmade gift bags, cards and journals.
